If you make videos, people ask about your setup all the time. Which camera, which mic, which app do you edit with? An affiliate program turns that answer into a small income. You share a personal link or code, and when someone buys through it, you get a cut.
Nobody gets rich from one link overnight. What it brings in depends almost entirely on whether your audience needs the product. Chosen well and disclosed honestly, though, an affiliate link is one of the easiest ways to earn from content you were going to make anyway.
The short version
- You only earn on purchases made through your link or code.
- Compare the rate, how long it runs, the referral window and the payout minimum.
- Disclose the relationship right next to the link, not just in your bio.
How does an affiliate program work?
Almost every program follows the same steps:
You join the program and get a personal link, often a code as well.
Share it
You put the link or code where your viewers will see it: your bio, a video description, a story.
The sale is tracked
When someone buys through your link or with your code, the program credits the sale to you.
Get paid
You receive the agreed share, usually collected and paid out once you pass a minimum.
Links and codes do different jobs. A link only works when someone clicks it. A code can be said out loud or shown on screen, which makes it work in places where nobody can click.
Your videos go out while you create
Plan your week once and BestPost publishes at your fixed times. That leaves more hours for the content that earns.
- Spreads the dates across your weekly pattern and posts on its own
- Publishes from the server, your browser can stay closed
- Shows every date in one calendar you rearrange with a click
What should you look for in an affiliate program?
Two programs with the same percentage can pay very differently. These terms make the difference:
| Term | What to ask | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Commission | What percentage, and of which amount? | Gross versus net makes a real difference on small payments |
| Duration | One-time, or on every payment for months? | On subscriptions, recurring commission adds up |
| Referral window | How long after a click does a purchase still count? | Many people buy days later, not right away |
| Payout | From which amount, how often, by which method? | A high minimum can mean months of waiting |
| Viewer perk | Does your audience get a discount? | A perk for viewers makes the recommendation easier |
| Refunds and cancellations | What happens to your commission then? | It decides how much of your commission is final |
Read the program terms before you share anything. If a promise isn't in the terms, it isn't a promise.
How do you disclose affiliate links?
In the US, the FTC's guide Disclosures 101 for Social Media Influencers treats any financial relationship with a brand as something you must disclose. An affiliate commission is exactly that. The guide's main points:
| Situation | What the FTC expects |
|---|---|
| Placement | With the recommendation itself, hard to miss |
| Bio or profile page | Not enough on its own |
| End of a post, behind More | Likely to be missed |
| Hashtags | A disclosure buried in a group of hashtags doesn't work |
| Video | Say or show it in the video, not only in the description |
Rules differ by country. In Germany, for example, the state media authorities ask for an asterisk at the link with an explanation right next to it. Use your platform's own disclosure tools as well, such as TikTok's setting for promotional content. This article is not legal advice, so check the rules where you live.
What does the BestPost affiliate program offer?
BestPost is a scheduler for short videos. If you make videos yourself, you know the problem it solves, which makes it easy to recommend honestly. The terms are on the BestPost affiliate program page:
| Term | BestPost affiliate program |
|---|---|
| Cost | Free, no subscription needed |
| Commission | 20 percent of every payment your customers make, for twelve months |
| From your 11th paying customer | 30 percent for that customer and every one after |
| Perk for your viewers | 50 percent off the first month, or 10 percent off the first year |
| Referral window | Anyone who signs up with your code and pays for the first time within 90 days |
| Payout | At the end of the month via PayPal, once you reach €25 |
You are approved the moment you pick your code, and anyone who arrives through your link has the code filled in already. A commission becomes due 30 days after your customer's payment, and you receive the statement as a PDF. You see how many customers came through you and every commission with date and amount, but no names.

More time for the videos that pay
Set your posting days and times once. BestPost handles every channel from there.
- Sends the same video to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and X
- Writes the description, YouTube title, hashtags and first comment from your video
- Shows views, likes and comments per video and channel
Who is this a good fit for?
Not every channel. An affiliate link works when the product fits what you already talk about.
- It fits well when your audience makes content too: creator tips, social media marketing, freelancers, online stores.
- It does little for pure entertainment channels where nobody in the audience posts videos.
- Only recommend what you use or have tested. One bad recommendation costs more trust than a commission is worth.
For BestPost that means: if you schedule your own videos with it, just show it. A quick look at your content calendar says more than any sales line.
