You need to move a Reel, but it is not where you expected. The first question is where the schedule was created. A native Instagram entry and a job saved in another service may be managed in different places.
Once you find it, distinguish the change you need. Rescheduling a time is not the same operation as replacing the video.
Find the original scheduling surface
Confirm the account handle. Then open the tool used to save the publication instruction.
Instagram's scheduled-content help describes a scheduled-content area in the app's profile menu, with actions such as rescheduling, sharing immediately or deleting. Labels can differ by language and version.
For an external job, begin in the external tool. Absence from another interface does not by itself prove the schedule has disappeared.

Move a date with one click
Drag a post to another day right in the calendar.
- Shows every date in one calendar you rearrange with a click
- Every text stays editable until you post
- Runs in the browser, on your computer and on your phone
Classify the requested change
| Change | What to establish |
|---|---|
| Publication time | The saved date and zone can be updated |
| Accompanying text | The relevant field is editable in this state |
| Video revision | The workflow supports replacing the asset |
| Destination or audience | The change is allowed and still approved |
| Cancellation | The original job is reliably stopped |
Do not assume support for one edit implies support for all the others.
Reschedule and verify the saved result
Reschedule the post in this order:
Save the change
Record the old time, apply the available change and save the complete new time. Reopen the overview afterward.
Check the entry
Check that you modified the intended job rather than adding a second one. For a series, inspect the surrounding entries too. Moving one episode can change its relationship with another.
Notify the team
Notify the team of the change, but remember that a message does not update the publication instruction itself.
This aligns the saved instruction with the team update.
Treat a replacement file as a content revision
Review the new export completely. A small cut can affect subtitle timing, the ending or a statement in the accompanying text.
Check whether the existing job allows the asset to be replaced. If the workflow requires a new job, first establish how the old one will be stopped.
Do not leave two active versions as a precaution. That is especially problematic when the original release time is close.
Keep the revised filename or content version in the change record so another editor can identify what was approved.
Let BestPost handle the rest
Upload the file, set a date, done. The server takes over.
- Spreads the dates across your weekly pattern and posts on its own
- Publishes from the server, your browser can stay closed
- Free for 14 days, no credit card
Delete only for a clear reason
Check these points around deleting a job:
- Reason: Deletion may be appropriate when the post should no longer appear or when a deliberate replacement workflow requires it. Preserve the materials and approval information you still need first.
- Investigation: Do not use deletion as a general way to investigate an unclear status. Capture the relevant message before losing the record.
- Confirmation: After canceling or removing a job, verify that it is no longer scheduled. The intended action and its confirmed result are separate checks.
The final check confirms whether the job has left the schedule.
For connected episodes, use a shared Reels series plan.
Leave a useful change note
“Updated Reel” hides too much. A better note specifies whether the time, text or file changed and identifies the new value or revision.
For a cancellation, state whether another post will replace it. For a time change, record the full timestamp and zone.
BestPost's scheduling workflow supports calendar organization. If the problem is that a Reel cannot be scheduled at all, use the separate scheduling workflow instead of treating it as an edit problem.
