A caption can fit perfectly inside the video frame and still become unreadable in the app. The missing consideration is the interface around and over the image.
Treat placement as a relationship between the words, the scene and the player. Moving text away from one control is only an improvement if it does not hide the information the video is trying to explain.
Choose the frames most likely to fail
Inspect the longest subtitle, the busiest scene and any close-up containing small details. A clean opening shot is often the least demanding test.
For an illustrative repair clip, the important detail might be a small release tab. If the subtitle covers that tab, the viewer loses information even though the words themselves remain readable.

Check the exported file first
Open the rendered video outside the editor. Confirm that you are reviewing the version intended for publication, including any text already embedded in the image.
Then inspect the available destination preview. After publication, check the actual viewing experience as well. A preview is useful but may not represent every interface state.
Use normal playback speed. If reading requires repeated pauses, investigate timing and text density instead of considering the layout finished.
Adjust the cause of the overlap
Choose the correction using these checks:
- Adjustment options: You have several options: line breaks, position, timing and visual treatment. Use the change that solves the observed problem while preserving meaning.
- Visual tradeoff: Shrinking everything can create room but make reading harder. Moving everything to the center can hide a face or the demonstrated object. A better layout often depends on the specific scene.
- Meaning: Keep meaningful phrases together when adjusting line breaks. Do not delete a condition or a negative merely to make a line shorter.
This addresses the overlap while preserving the explanation.
Do not mistake a template for a guarantee
A safe-area overlay can help during editing, but it represents assumptions about the viewing interface. Device layouts and display states can vary.

Review every language export
Check each language version across these areas:
- Export review: A longer translated phrase can turn a neat two-line caption into a crowded block. Check the final file for each language rather than approving the style once for the whole campaign.
- Accurate wording: Keep wording accurate while adapting line breaks. If a phrase needs rewriting, compare it with the spoken meaning and any important qualifications.
- File identity: Name the files clearly so the reviewed English version cannot be confused with a previous export or another language.
The approval then applies to the language export actually reviewed.
Good placement does not replace a review of the automatic transcript.
Close the loop on the scheduled post
A corrected project does not automatically mean every saved publishing job contains the correction. Verify the file attached to the entry.
Keep a short record of what was fixed: the affected scene, the new version and the job using it. This is especially useful when several people share responsibility for the queue.
